Principal’s Lunch

It was such a joy to honor our Bobcat and Trait of the Month students for September! Our character trait was Responsibility, and our Bobcats exemplified being Safe, Supportive,
Lunch 2
Engaged, and Flexible. Each student received a pin, pencil, and—always a favorite—a special trip to the balcony. It’s wonderful to see our students taking pride in being responsible and demonstrating our Bobcat traits every day.

Coach Madrid’s Kindergarteners

Coach Madrid’s kindergarten students learned how to run, dodge, and weave to avoid being tagged—all while demonstrating teamwork and respect. They practiced taking turns, playing fair, and cheering for their teammates to show good sportsmanship whether they won or lost.

Pumpkin Day – 3rd Grade

Third graders had a fantastic time during their annual Pumpkin Day! Students integrated math, science, and literacy as they measured, observed, and wrote about pumpkins.

Kindergarten’s First Field Trip

Our kindergarteners had their first field trip to the Marana Pumpkin Patch! Excitement filled the air as they boarded the bus—nervous, thrilled, and full of energy.
We are so grateful to our parent volunteers who helped make this milestone day smooth, safe, and fun for our youngest learners.
Trunk 1

Trunk or Treat

What an incredible evening at our annual Trunk or Treat! This event, sponsored by our amazing FFO, was led by Jacquelyn Peterson this year. A heartfelt thank-you to Jacquelyn, our dedicated parent volunteers, and all of the staff and families who decorated trunks and helped create such a festive atmosphere.
Trunk 2
It was heartwarming to see students, families, and even returning middle schoolers enjoying this beloved Ventana Vista tradition. Fun was truly had by all!

Third Grade / Tercer Grado

Sra. Henikman’s class started working on a timeline (una línea de tiempo) in social studies. Students learned that a timeline is a tool we use to look back at important events in history and that they are arranged in chronological order. Students reflected on their own personal events in life, leading up to the present and brainstormed which events they would display on their timelines. We did these timelines to show that each of us carries a different perspective and experience in life just as when we will examine timelines of Arizona’s history, we will notice that not all timelines will have the same exact events and years displayed. For instance, one timeline of Arizona’s history may have an event that may not be on the other timeline we are comparing it to. Or both timelines may have the same year, but with differing events that shaped Arizona’s history.
Here are some vocabulary words they are using in class:
Timeline - Línea de tiempo
Chronological order - Órden cronológico
Years - Años
Questions to ask your child in Spanish:
  • ¿Cuándo es tu cumpleaños?   When is your birthday?
  • ¿Cuándo es mi cumpleaños?  When is my birthday?
Spanish activities to do at home:

Ninos 1

Niños en Acción

Students made their own personal timelines in class. Some years were skipped in order to show years of significance in each student’s life. Some students felt that there was nothing major or significant each year since birth so they knew to include only events that may have been life changing or important to them.
Ninos 2
However, students maintained the format of keeping everything in chronological order. Students also had an opportunity to share their timeline with the rest of the class, which they really enjoyed doing!
